Meet the Founder & Director
Candy Love has been a passionate advocate for girls and female leadership in sports for many years. From 8 to 12 years old, Candy attended co-ed sports and outdoor adventure camps. At 13, she earn junior camp counselor positions and never looked back. As an adult, Candy worked as a lead outdoor experiential education facilitator for youth camps in NC, Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland. She was also a coordinator and coach for various male led programs that offered co-ed athletics (which often were 90% boys and 10% girls).
After witnessing the need for girls to have their own programs, Candy was inspired to create an organization, facilitated by women – dedicated to the growth and development of young girls through the use of athletics and outdoor adventures.
It’s important to that girls, especially girls of color in underserved communities, have the opportunity to be exposed to the physical and mental benefits of participating an athletics and adventure activities.
It’s also empowering for girls to witness and experience women owning, facilitating and coordinating a business.
This opens their minds to possibilities they might otherwise never imagine.
